REASSEMBLE/REAPPEAR

We are announcing that our first E.P. will be titled "Reassemble/Reappear." After much discussion and thought, we've decided that this title will be the most 'fitting.' Danny is now mixing all of our music so that we will be ready to get the music mastered. We are hoping to have all of the new tunes on-line as soon as possible. I would give you a date but I do not know at this point; early this year I would hope however. Our great friend Paul Rivera will be doing all of our photos, artwork, etc. Check out his stuff on his new website (which is awesome) at www.paulifornia.com . I'll let you all know the latest on the record. We will  be working diligently on completing this record promptly.

The recording process has been stellar so far. We can't say enough great things about Danny Duran and Matt Suttle. They have played an integral part in the development of our music. They've helped us craft our songs and really have pushed us creatively. We appreciate their efforts, time, concern, and encouragement to the uttermost. Thanks for checking in.

Drum Tracking Photography

Tracking Bass

We are re-tracking some bass tracks. Matt was unhappy with a few of the bass lines in some of the songs. Bass will be done soon and then we will swiftly move onto guitar. Brad will be going in to record final guitar tracks. I will keep you all posted on the progress of the recording. Following that, I will probably be going in to finish up some vocal tracks. Again, I will keep you all informed. Thank you for checking in.

DRUMS

We are currently taking the time to re-track the drums on our record. Originally we recorded the drums in our practice space with only six microphones. In the depths of recording bass, guitar(s), and vocals, however, we soon realized the need to redo the drum tracks to capture a wider sound. We are now recording Cory's drums in a large warehouse with high ceilings in a much larger space and yes, with more microphones. They sound incredible thus far and Cory has been working hard with Matt and Danny to complete the recording. I believe we will rework some of the guitar parts next and add the second guitar parts. We are closing in on finishing up the entire record. I'll let you all know what is going on as it comes around. Thanks for the support!

RECORDING

So it has been way too long since posting on this blog of ours. I blame myself completely. We have been recording with our now good friend Danny Duran and Matt Suttle(Moonshine and the Drugs). We've managed to complete a few aspects; drums have been laid down, bass guitar, main guitar tracks and main vocals seem to be mostly complete. We've decided however that the drums will be recorded again in a larger, open room with more microphones that will help capture the true essence of drums. All in all, we are inching closer to completing our first record as Copia. We are entirely excited to say the very least. We've stayed up many the late nights and have poured in our souls thanks to Danny and Matt's amazing and wonderful help. I can't say enough things about those guys. If you want an honest record, have them work on it. Those fellows are money and we feel privileged to be working with them. We are narrowing our sites on the name of the e.p. but we'll officially announce it as soon as it appears close to finished. Obviously, we are not quite done just yet. We hope to add more guitar parts from Greg, add vocals-overdubs-etc., and sample sounds, as well as, redo the drum tracks. We cannot wait until we can present it to anyone who is willing to listen to our music. The best part of this whole experience you ask? Becoming friends with superb individuals that share our passion of making music to express ourselves. Thanks to all of our friends that have been pushing us, encouraging us, reminding us what it is all about...Making music you believe in. Thank you specifically to Danny Duran, Moonshine and the Drugs, Drums and Color, Jupilar (Matt and Paul!), our wives and girlfriends, Brent Firestone, and anyone else I will remember to thank in this rant of mine. I am on a new high with the music. I can't wait to complete what we started out to do. Until next time, one love.

Solo Show

Thanks to Orion Walsh for hooking us up with a show. I played a few Copia and Etc. Etc. songs. It was different not having the guys around. We are trying to arrange our schedules to begin laying down bass, guitars, vocals, etc. We'll let you know more as time goes on. We are scheduling more shows as well. We'll keep you posted.

DETROIT BAR WRAP UP

We really enjoyed Thursday's show at Detroit Bar. It's a great venue with an atmosphere to match; so we enjoyed playing there and hope we can play there more often. We met Bella Novela for the first time and they completely blew us away with their talent. If you haven't heard their music, do yourself a favor and head over to iTunes or google (Bella Novela). We really hope to link up with that band in the near future. Great people. Gram Rabbit was awesome too! We felt lucky to be part of such a great show. We are currently trying to manage ourselves in completing this recording of ours. We will let you know if things unfold sooner than later. Hope all is well. Thanks for checking in.

For lack of better words, the show at Alex's was legit. Thanks to Moonshine and the Drugs for the show. We love those dudes and appreciate all of the love. Helen Earth band is epic and we had such an amazing time hangin' with all of our friends. We love you John Cray! Big props to Paul for all of the band photos. You need your photos done, hit him up here!
We are making it our own personal goal to record our music. I'm sure it'll be a long journey but we'll try to weather the storm. Cory laid drum tracks down and we'll begin to edit those. In the meantime we'll try to chip away at those songs. Some shows may come up, until then, keep checking back here for updates.
