REASSEMBLE/REAPPEAR

Happy New Year to ALL!,
Our new E.P. Titled 'REASSEMBLE/REAPPEAR' is mixed and ready to be mastered. We are currently working to get it mastered at The Boom Boom Room to complete the recording process. As far as the production of the artwork, packaging, etc. goes, we are plotting our course of action and design concepts to match the aesthetic of our music. It's been so much fun creating this record and we've really made some great new friends along the way. As you all may know now, Danny Duran has been diligently working with us to produce and record this music along with Matt Suttle. In the time we've come to know Danny, he has played an integral role in the development of our songs and has helped us shape our scope of how music can be arranged. He has been entirely conducive to exploring our creativity and has shown us a complete desire to create music in a fresh way.
I would like to introduce Danny as a new member to COPIA. He will be joining us in our endeavors in music. He will be playing guitar, keys, vocals, etc. for us and we couldn't be more excited! We believe with hard work that this year will be a productive year for us. We are encouraged to change our view on the amount of time and work we put into this passion we have. We have a new found respect for creating music and realized in this recording process that we want to pursue our desires to play music collectively as a band.
We will be working in the next few months on practicing our material in order to play our music live. We plan on having a CD Release show to begin playing shows to support our new E.P. We cannot wait to begin writing new music as COPIA and look forward to a wonderful 2011 year.

Final Mixes

We are currently listening to some final mixes of our new record. Danny has been busy mixing our music to sound superb. The songs are basically complete, they just need some finalizing in the mix and mastering. We are planning to begin taking our photos and commence artwork with Paul next weekend. We are extremely excited about the progress of our collaborate work together. Thanks for checking in.

REASSEMBLE/REAPPEAR

We are announcing that our first E.P. will be titled "Reassemble/Reappear." After much discussion and thought, we've decided that this title will be the most 'fitting.' Danny is now mixing all of our music so that we will be ready to get the music mastered. We are hoping to have all of the new tunes on-line as soon as possible. I would give you a date but I do not know at this point; early this year I would hope however. Our great friend Paul Rivera will be doing all of our photos, artwork, etc. Check out his stuff on his new website (which is awesome) at www.paulifornia.com . I'll let you all know the latest on the record. We will  be working diligently on completing this record promptly. 

The recording process has been stellar so far. We can't say enough great things about Danny Duran and Matt Suttle. They have played an integral part in the development of our music. They've helped us craft our songs and really have pushed us creatively. We appreciate their efforts, time, concern, and encouragement to the uttermost. Thanks for checking in.

Drum Tracking Photography

Tracking Bass

We are re-tracking some bass tracks. Matt was unhappy with a few of the bass lines in some of the songs. Bass will be done soon and then we will swiftly move onto guitar. Brad will be going in to record final guitar tracks. I will keep you all posted on the progress of the recording. Following that, I will probably be going in to finish up some vocal tracks. DRUMS

We are currently taking the time to re-track the drums on our record. Originally we recorded the drums in our practice space with only six microphones. In the depths of recording bass, guitar(s), and vocals, however, we soon realized the need to redo the drum tracks to capture a wider sound. We are now recording Cory's drums in a large warehouse with high ceilings in a much larger space and yes, with more microphones. They sound incredible thus far and Cory has been working hard with Matt and Danny to complete the recording. I believe we will rework some of the guitar parts next and add the second guitar parts. We are closing in on finishing up the entire record. I'll let you all know what is going on as it comes around. Thanks for the support!
